Rates, Payment and Cancellation

At Harbour Family Counselling, we offer a variety of counselling services tailored to individuals, children, youth, couples, and families. Fees vary depending on the type of session and the counsellor you work with. You can find the rates for our counsellors listed on their profile pages and in our booking calendar.

Counselling Session Rates

Complimentary 20-minute consultation – Free introductory phone or video call

Individual counselling (children, teens, adults) – $155 to $170 per 50-minute session

Couples and family counselling – $190 per 50-minute session

Parent intake or check-in sessions – $80 to $170 depending on length and format

All counselling sessions are provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs). Fees reflect each counsellor’s training, experience, and areas of specialization.

Insurance & Reimbursement

Many extended health benefit plans cover services provided by RCCs. We encourage you to check directly with your provider to confirm:

  • Whether services from a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) are covered

  • The amount of coverage available per session or per year

  • Whether a doctor’s referral is required

We do not offer direct billing at this time. After each session, you’ll receive a receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Payment

Payment is required at the end of each session unless other arrangements have been made in advance. We accept e-transfer, credit card, cash, and cheque.

Clients have the option to securely store a credit card in their Janeapp profile. When this feature is enabled, payments are processed automatically after each appointment.

A receipt will be issued by email for your records.

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a counselling session. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to the full session fee.

If you’re unable to attend an in-person session, you’re welcome to switch to a video or phone session instead. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll make the necessary arrangements.

We understand that unexpected events can happen. Exceptions may be made in cases of illness, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond your control.
