Career Counselling with Maria Butler, RCC
Choosing a path can feel overwhelming. Whether you're picking a school or major, considering graduate school, or feeling unsure about your next step, career counselling can help you get clarity and direction.
Maria creates a calm, encouraging space where you can explore your values, interests, and long-term goals. Together, you'll sort through what's important to you and build a plan that feels realistic and right for who you are.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. Career counselling is about discovering what matters to you and growing from there.
Who This is For
Maria works with students and young adults who are:
Unsure about their major, academic program, or which school to pick
Feeling pressure to succeed but unsure where to go next
Questioning whether their current career path fits them
Thinking about grad school or a major life shift
Struggling with motivation or burnout related to school or work
Whether you’re in university, recently graduated, or taking time to figure things out, Maria offers support that’s thoughtful and grounded.
What Career Counselling Looks Like
In a typical session, you'll talk about what’s going on for you right now. That could mean stress around decisions, uncertainty about long-term plans, or feeling stuck in a path that doesn’t feel quite right.
Maria uses tools from CBT and strengths-based counselling to help you feel more confident and connected to your choices. It’s not about finding one perfect answer. It’s about understanding yourself better and finding a next step that fits.
Where and When
Sessions with Maria are available both online and in person at our Victoria office near UVic and Camosun. Appointments are 50 minutes long and cost $155 per session. We provide receipts for extended health benefits, including UVSS and Camosun student plans.
