About Me

Hi, I’m Darcy Harbour, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in Victoria with over 20 years of experience as an educator, school counsellor, and therapist. I’m passionate about helping people feel more grounded in themselves and more connected in their relationships. My counselling space is calm and welcoming, located in Victoria, and I also offer online sessions.

Who I Work With

I support children, teens, adults, parents, college and university students, couples, and families. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, emotional intensity, or parenting stress. Some are navigating big life transitions, school challenges, or relationship issues. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your family, I meet you where you’re at and walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity and resilience.

How I Work

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I work to create a space where you feel safe to explore difficult emotions and patterns without fear of judgment. Together, we identify what’s not working, recognize your strengths, and build tools to help you move forward with more steadiness and confidence. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

What We Might Work On

  • Understanding and managing anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • Parenting challenges and supporting your child’s emotional needs

  • Family communication and conflict

  • Relationship stress and emotional distance

  • Transitions such as separation, school changes, or major life shifts

  • Feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of yourself

A Team Approach to Family Counselling

At Harbour Family Counselling, I often work alongside other members of our counselling team to support families in a more holistic way. For example, I may work with parents or caregivers, while a child or teen may be best supported by one of our therapists who specialize and children and youth. We stay connected as a team behind the scenes, sharing insights and strategies when appropriate, so that each member of your family receives care that is both individualized and coordinated. This approach allows families to grow together while each person receives support that fits their unique needs.

Supporting UVic and Camosun Students

If you’re a student at UVic or Camosun and feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure of your direction, you’re not alone. I work with students navigating school stress, relationships, and life transitions. I’ll support you in feeling more grounded and confident. Sessions are available in person near campus or online if you’re studying remotely or away on co-op.
