Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy in Victoria, BC

What is Internal Family Systems?

IFS is a respectful, non-judgmental way of working with the different parts of yourself. You might notice a part of you that feels anxious, another part that criticizes, and another that just wants peace. IFS helps you understand and connect with these parts, without pushing them away.

At the heart of this work is something called the Self, a calm, steady, curious presence that already lives inside you. IFS helps you come home to that part of yourself, and begin to heal from the inside out.

Why Many People Are Choosing IFS

More and more people are drawn to IFS because it feels so relatable and intuitive. Rather than focusing on what's “wrong,” IFS sees each part of you as trying to help in its own way, even when its actions cause stress or confusion.

It’s especially helpful for anxiety, trauma, and relationship struggles. Many people who try IFS say they feel more grounded, more compassionate with themselves, and more clear about how to move forward.

How IFS Can Help

You might find IFS helpful if you're:

  • Feeling anxious or overwhelmed by inner conflict

  • Struggling with a harsh inner critic

  • Healing from trauma or emotional wounds

  • Noticing the same patterns showing up in relationships

  • Wanting to feel more confident, clear, and at peace

We often hear from clients that IFS helps them feel seen and understood in a new way. It's not about fixing yourself. It's about getting to know the parts of you that need care.

What Sessions Look Like

In a typical IFS session, you'll explore the parts of you that are showing up most strongly, perhaps a part that worries, a part that avoids, or a part that gets easily overwhelmed.

You'll be guided to listen to those parts with curiosity and care, and begin to build trust between them and your core Self. There's no pressure, no pushing. Just space to gently notice what’s happening inside and take steps toward healing.

Sessions are 50 minutes, and available in person near UVic and Camosun or online anywhere in British Columbia.

Fees and Insurance

Our rates range from $155 to $170 per session, depending our the counsellor you choose. We’re happy to provide receipts so you can apply for reimbursement through your company benefits, UVSS, Camosun student health plans, or extended family coverage. If you’re not sure what your plan covers, we’re glad to help you look into it.
