About Me
I work with men (16+) who are feeling weighed down by the past, stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand, or struggling in their relationships, either with others, or with themselves.
In our work together, my goal is to help you build a clearer relationship with your internal world so you can communicate more effectively, feel more connected, and live with more choice in the present.
Who I Work With
I specialize in supporting men ages 16+. Many of the men I work with are navigating the impact of early attachment wounds, relational trauma, chronic stress, depression, or relationship conflict. Some feel disconnected from their emotions. Others feel like they’re “doing everything right” on the outside, but internally they’re carrying pain, pressure, or shame that’s hard to name.
Wherever you’re starting from, we’ll move at a pace that supports safety, clarity, and real change.
How I Work
My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in an understanding of how early experiences can shape the nervous system, self-worth, and protective coping strategies. Together, we’ll get curious about the patterns that show up for you, without judgment, so you can develop more regulation, flexibility, and authentic connection.
When it’s useful, I’m also direct: I’ll help bring structure and focus to sessions, offer thoughtful challenges to perspectives that may be keeping you stuck, and support practical skill-building through what’s happening in real time between us.
What We Might Work On
You might work with me on:
trauma and complex trauma
depression, heaviness, or feeling disconnected
relationship stress and communication breakdown
understanding your internal world and emotional patterns
unburdening old pain so you can feel more present and fulfilled
A Team Approach to Family Counselling
If you or your family are working with more than one counsellor at Harbour Family Counselling, I prioritize clear communication, informed consent, and shared goals. When collaboration is helpful, I coordinate with the other clinician(s) so the work stays aligned, while also respecting confidentiality and role boundaries so individual, couple, and family work supports the same direction of change.

Rates and Insurance
I offer counselling for men (16+) online.
Complimentary 20-minute consultation – Introductory phone call to explore fit and answer questions.
Individual counselling – $165 for a 50-minute session (video).
You may be eligible for reimbursement through extended health benefits. Find out more about the different benefits providers we work with on our rates page.
Outside the Office
Outside of counselling, I’m happiest outdoors. In the summer you’ll find me hiking with my dog Lilly, gravel biking, running, or soaking up the sun with my wife by the lake. In the winter, I’m often skiing or snowshoeing, especially if Lilly can come along and get her snow “zoomies.”
When I’m not outside, I enjoy reading, dabbling in writing, learning new cooking skills, and dancing with my wife (we started lessons for our wedding and kept going). With my background in kinesiology, I also value strength training as part of taking care of mental health and overall well-being.

Yes, when it’s helpful. Many men appreciate clarity and structure in therapy. Being directive might look like helping us stay aligned on what you want most, offering thoughtful challenges to perspectives that may be keeping you stuck, or using real-time experiences in session to support learning and growth. This is always done collaboratively and with respect for your autonomy.
-
Yes. Trauma-informed care is central to my work. I recognize how early attachment experiences, relational trauma, and chronic stress can shape the nervous system, self-worth, and coping strategies—particularly for men. Our work focuses on building awareness, regulation, and choice, rather than pushing or re-traumatizing.
